Collection Development Training Session
The European Web Archive is organizing one-day training sessions on building websites collections in Paris (see dates below). The training will cover all aspects of collection development for librarians, archivists in charge of web archiving with emphasis on the specificities of websites collections development compared to traditional collection development.
The training will present a brief introduction on web archiving methodologies as well as web publishing specificities. A practical approach to websites collection building will then be presented detailing steps, roles and methods to be used in selecting and archiving websites . Finally a review of tools and services available will be provided.

- Characteristics of Web publishing
- Actors of web publishing
- Web collection development policy
- Tools for discovery and selection of Web material
- Overview of capture methods
- Defining the right scope and frequency
- Review and demonstration of existing tools and services
Venue:
The session will take place in Paris.
There are currently no Collection Development training sessions scheduled.
Registration:
Registration fee for the day (including lunches and coffee breaks):
- 550€ standard rate
- 380€ for non-profit and governmental organizations
This session can be taken by itself or with the Web Archiving Training session.
